“ Im from Germany living in Bogotá for a while and I was recommended some german butchers and restaurants. I wasnt recommended this one but as I live near and seeing it has good ratings here I wanted to give it a try, too. First of all though the owners are obviously german the restaurant seems to be typical mediocre colombian restaurant where they play (horrible) german music and put some german decoration inside. By entering through the shabby and dirty grey tiled floor you know that is not a real german restaurant.. After entering they brought us the menu and we decided to get the Schweinshaxe mit Sauerkraut as it was labeled as the recommended meal. Unfortunately they told us it would take 45 minutes until its ready. Instead of 45 minutes it took about 1 hour and when they brought it the meat was not through, some parts were still bloody and the vast majority was dark pink. This is a definitive no-go for pork meat. The Sauerkraut and the mashed potatos were good but the portion was small. They didnt have german mustard but only colombian one with honey. I asked the waitress for german mustard and she agreed to bring some but returned with the same mustard in a different vessel... I think the meal would have been good if would have been well done but obviously they werent prepared for guests... (it was sunday about 2 pm..) ”
“ It was Sunday noon in Bogota and suddenly I was hungry for German cuisine.The restaurant has an East German charm. Xavier Naidoo and medieval music played on the radio while I was there. To my delight there was a large selection of beers and the menu was also extensive, I opted for the currywurst. For my taste there could have been a little more ketchup. Still great! ”

“ Fabulous place on service and food. Authentic to the max! Great setting inside and au natural.Schmeckt sehr gut! Learn some German my Spanish speaking friends on the walls! Like being in Munich! The atmosphere made it fun to explain the Deutsch expressions to my wife and stepson, show the places on the map where I had been in Germany and Austria and explain the dishes offered on the menu. Scheinhaxen done the old fashioned way! My stepson and I enjoyed the jaegerschnitzel and my wife dived into the schweinshaxen and let me munch the crispy skin. She had never tried it and thoroughly enjoyed it. Portions were typically German large so we had great leftovers the next day. Imported Bier choices were great so we had 3 different Dunkelbiers and all were great and each slightly different. I had fun as my German immediately came back chatting with the chef! Service was good and we were in no rush waiting the 45 minutes for her schweinshaxen to get done as the bier helped. We watched other diners obviously enjoying their meals as well. IT is not a large place but they make you feel comfortable. If it is ever full it is worth the trip so take a stroll around the colorful area or down to the bull ring park or church and come back but DO NOT LEAVE WITHOUT TRYING THEIR FARE! Even my cucumber salad was great and my wife's apples with the pork was gobbled up and appropriate. We had no room left for dessert but that is for the next time along with some soups. ”
